locks of love

A child will soon benefit from your generosity

When I got a fortune cookie with the above message, I knew it was time. I'd been growing my hair out uberlong so that I could harvest it and donate it to Locks of Love. Having been chemo-bald, I wanted to grow some hair for those who can't. As I grew it to a length of true annoyance (washing it was a bitch), I was pleased that my hair would one day grace the head of a little girl who, like me, had lost her hair due to chemotherapy treatments. And yet...I grew attached to my long hair. I didn't want to cut it. I grew it a little longer so that my hair wouldn't be so short when I finally did harvest an appropriate length. Well, as it turns out, hair inches are a little different from ruler measurements and yesterday, I lost over a foot of hair. And, yes, I'm vain enough to chronicle it here.

Now...

and then. Me as my hair was about a month and a half ago: (the picture sucks, but it's the best representation of length)
