Starla roars to Wii victory
Stay-at-home Cat was hijacked by fun, playful Cat and went out--not once, not twice, but three times! in a single week no less. A drink with a new friend on Thursday, Gallery Walk fun and beverage enjoyment on Friday and a Wii party on Saturday. I almost didn't make it to the Wii party as i was sadly tired, but the ever-jubilent Morgan saved me from a night of tv and school work. And we're off to West Lafayette, exploring backroads and picking up gluten-free beer.Wendy (of my New Media class) and her husband, Matt, threw what I think was the best party I've been to since I came to Purdue. They fed us a crab, crawfish and shrimp boil, corn bread, roasted corn and beans and rice. Best of all, we all ate with our hands. And, sweet and kind as they are, made the food gluten-free so that I could join in on the festivities. It was delicious and Southern-girl approved. As delicious as the food was, it was no match for the merciless Wii matches played by yours truly. Okay, so I enjoy winning, particularly when it's unexpected. The Wii party included games on the Wii as well as the X-box, PS2 and an old-school nintendo. I played my first game of guitar hero at which I truly suck but have high hopes for future matches. I made up for my less than stellar PS2 performance by kickin' some Wii butts! My avatar, Starla, ruled the tennis courts of Wii-dom with ace serves and a wicked backhand. I have no modesty or shame at this point, as I am typically the losing party in video games. (as evidenced by my performance in Sam's office on Friday afternoon) Wendy set up a game board for us to log our game successes. My Wii category box was so full of stickers it ran over into the PlayStation field. I won the Wii prize (and came in second for the most extreme Wii gestures). Here I am gesturing wildly and possibly becoming the victim of another's wild gesturing . Here's another exciting moment in Wii-dom and at this point I've either made a truly awesome move or I've crashed and burnt. At some point the tv and I seem to have had a falling out. It was a blast. And I won a little toy surprise. The real question is: after this plethora of photo links, do I need to add a narcissucat tag to my blog?
